The Challenge is ON!
Well, slowly but surly we are, in fact, getting comfortable with the daunting task of raising $34,000. To us, that is like shooting for the Moon, but it’s a goal we can and we will succeed in getting. We felt we needed to make this like a military operation as that is something we are both pretty comfortable with, and well, the play on words is pretty self explanatory. So as we go down this journey, we will blog about the process. Hopefully there will be more successes then failures, however we tend to look at failures as ways not to do something.
The first thing on the list is get the applications in, the DVD of Steve done, the letters from the various doctors and the university as well as achieving out first goal, raising the down deposit of $3000. Can I just say my head is still swimming? Right now we have a fundraising page up for online donations. We will be running in the Warrior Dash in July and we are hoping to raise awarness for Alpha there too. I’m switching the Army Guy’s ACU/BDU/ACG Platypus Pouches from Fisher House to Alpha Dog and I will also have a pickle jar for donations at the UC Arts and Crafts Show in April. I’m hoping to get a bunch of my crafty people I know to donate a few things and maybe even do an online auction here in a few weeks.
The next phase of fund raising is getting the word out and wit the pavement. That’s where you all start to come in. We need word of mouth references to help us spread the word. The more the better. I have the information about Heeling Allies, about Steve and even about us if anyone is interested.
So, for the time being, I’m going to hang up the Open Sign and let you all do a bit of exploring! I think I’m going to go take an hour and go run over to the gym and work out the nervous knots in my tummy.
A little about us….
We welcome you to our digital keep! We are currently residing in Montana while Steve completes his B.S. in Earth Sciences at Montana State University. Steve served in the U.S. Army for 10 years in artillery and was stationed in Korea as well as all over the states. Keri has started up her own company, Platypus Pouches, a soft-sided case that holds various different types of electronic gadgets, cell phones, tablets, eReaders and camera equipment. Although we are no longer in Washington State, Keri is still cooking up her Sunday Night Chef's Select Suppers where if you show up, chances are you will get fed something yummy. We are looking forward to get out and go travel into Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks were Keri can snap a few photos and Steve and go lick rocks. Oh and just an FYI, we are both fiercely owned by Edelbrock T. Cat, our six year-old black cat who is the Dominar of our Keep as well as the Cans of Tuna. All of our mutterings
